Whisper The Stoat Kit’s Rescue Story

You may have never heard of a Stoat before, but you’ve surely heard of a Weasel. Well, although they’re different Stoats and Weasels share many physical characteristics.

You can tell a Stoat from a Weasel from the way the hair on its belly meets the hair on its back. On Stoats, the line is straight and smooth, whereas that same line is jagged on a weasel.

Whisper the Stoat was found by a dog walker… alone and abandoned and just a couple of weeks old. His eyes weren’t even open yet. The dog walker was a Good Samaritan; rather than leaving her, the dog walker brought Whisper to the Mustelid Rescue in the UK where she could be cared for until she was ready to re-enter the wild.

This video was taken after her first couple of weeks at the rescue. Her eyes are open, and she is being properly nourished, and she has become very playful. Whisper is absolutely adorable, and the ending to her story is a happy one thanks to the good people at the rescue!
