There’s something mesmerizing about certain types of videos, especially those that play with our perceptions. I can literally feel my brain focus and relax when I watch these, even if they can be a little gross!
This video in particular by Temponaut Timelapse really caught my eye. Using sophisticated videography techniques, the artist is able to capture the progress of a perfect fruit cake journeying from human-created perfect dessert, back to the earth from which it came over the course of more than 20 days.
In an odd way, the beautiful canvas of the pure white background contrasted against the molding, rotting dessert creates an ironic beauty.
