Tilly Lockey – The Teenage Girl With Bionic Arms

When she was just 15 months old, Tilly Lockey contracted Group B meningococcal septicaemia and became extremely ill. In a sad turn of events, it was required she have both of her arms amputated in order to preserve her life.

Thankfully, Tilly survived, but from a very young age had to learn to live life without her arms.

Year later, thanks to modern medical and cybernetics science, Tilly Lockey became the recipient of the very first pair of 3D-printed bionic arms in the United Kingdom. Since then, Tilly has received extensive work as a model. While she travels, she also uses her platform to raise awareness around meningitis.
